Kobetsu Kaizen TPM is designed to help companies begin the implementation process for
TPM activities by focusing on step-by-step development and improvements. This joint
approach is coined as Kobetsu Kaizen TPM and includes the fundamental Jishu Hozen
Autonomous Maintenance.
What then is Kobetsu Kaizen TPM? How does it differ from other TPM courses that are
offered in the region? Basically the difference is in the depth of TPM understanding and
the way Autonomous Maintenance and other improvement activities are implemented. Kobetsu
Kaizen TPM addresses the issue of company-wide TPM activities through the implementation
of condition-improvement activities to optimum in all aspects of the plant operating
system, manpower development and equipment and plant facilities. Primarily, TPM-I focuses
on manpower development to transform the productive resources of the manufacturing
enterprises. Undertaking change of this magnitude is by no means easy, even in Japan.
Properly implemented Kobetsu Kaizen TPM will result in step-by-step improvement towards
a changed organization. All employees from Production to Maintenance to Engineering and
eventually to all Administrative functions will become involved in creating a lively
workplace. This will provide the climate to cultivate the desired work behaviour to
generate synergy for total reliability in the chain of operational and administrative
function for productive activities.
